ANZO: clarification to unit-holders
August 1, 2008
AMP NZ Office Trust (ANZO) assures its unit-holders that the announcement made by AMP Capital Investors today regarding one of its other property funds has no bearing on ANZO’s performance, operations, investments and the ability of investors to freely trade in its listed securities.
ANZO, a unit trust, is the largest investor in prime commercial office property listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
An unlisted property fund managed by AMP Capital Investors, the AMP Capital NZ Property Fund, has temporarily suspended redemptions and is currently not accepting new applications.
ANZO chief executive Robert Lang emphasised that ANZO is a separate entity which remains unaffected by the announcement.
“ANZO’s unit-holders have always had the ability to trade their units on the New Zealand Stock Exchange on any business day, simply by contacting their preferred broker, and there has been absolutely no change in that ability.”
He added that ANZO’s premium portfolio continued to benefit from currently-favourable market conditions, with portfolio and market vacancy rates at historically-low levels and solid rental growth underpinning its performance. ANZO’s annual result to 30 June 2008, due to be announced on 19 August, will confirm the previously-announced record gross distribution to unit-holders and $118 million* portfolio revaluation gain.
ANZO is managed by AMP Haumi Management Limited, a joint venture between AMP Capital Investors and Haumi, a subsidiary of a major sovereign wealth fund.
